7th Grade - Academy of Law and Civics

Our 7th graders will participate in the Law and Civics institute. The Law and Civics institute successfully prepares students for many careers in the field of law, the courts, and law enforcement. These careers include lawyers, paralegals, court officers and reports, mediators, politicians, intelligence agents, and police officers. This program’s enrichment focuses on various types of law and the study of legal issues, government, the courts, and law enforcement. Seventh grade students in the Law and Civics institute will engage in role-playing activities surrounding important cases, learn public speaking skills and how forensics plays a part in law enforcement. Students can select enrichment courses in one of the following: 

 

Students in the Law and Civics Institute also visit our local courts, participate in fun law-themed trips, and have the opportunity to meet and work directly with lawyers, judges, politicians, law professors, and different members of law enforcement.
