Grading Policy
Here at I.S. 381, we push our scholars to strive for academic excellence. The follow grading policies have been developed and are enforced for all courses. Core curriculum courses (ELA, Math, Social Studies, Science) follow the Universal Grading Policy. All other course (PE, Art, Music, etc.) follow the Related Arts Grading Policy.
Universal Grading Policy
High academic expectations are set for all I.S. 381 students. Official report card grades are derived by using the formula below in all subject areas expect Physical Education and the Arts:
| Participation and Engagement | 15% |
| Classwork (Individual/Group Work) and Exit Slips | 30% |
| Homework | 20% |
| Tests, Quizzes, Projects/Performance Tasks | 35% |
Related Arts Grading Policy
High academic expectations are set for all I.S. 381 students. Report card grades for related arts are derived using the formula below:
| Class Preparedness, Behavior & Appropriateness | 30% |
| Classwork, Participation, Engagement | 50% |
| Tests, Quizzes, Projects/Performance Tasks | 20% |
